Good Morning Church,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I hope everyone had family close to them over this past week remembering everything that they are thankful for. I pray as we move into December you will remember those thankful moments as we turn our attention to the most important thing to be thankful for in all of creation—the Advent! Jesus Christ being born is the one event in all of human history that allows us to be thankful! So this morning I am thankful for Jesus!
I am preaching this morning the 9th message on the #GospelLife. It is a sermon series through the book of Galatians and we are examining the text, looking at what our Gospel Life is all about. Some crazy things have been happening in my life over the last couple of weeks and it has taught me that nothing is more important in my life, as long as I am drawing breath, than my Gospel Purpose. The Apostle Paul tells us all about our Gospel Purpose this morning. Our Gospel Purpose is about knowing what counts, running the race, and serving one another in love. It is all about “faith working through love.”
I really want you to grab a hold of this! “Faith working through love” is the meaning of our Gospel Life. It is our Gospel Purpose. We must have faith and let it be manifested in how we love God and each other. This is what Jesus said is the greatest two commandments. As a matter of fact he said that the whole law can be summed up in these two… Mark 12:20-31 “30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
We would love to see you this morning as we open God’s word and let the Holy Spirit speak truth into our hearts.
