Gospel Life 12
Good morning church,
One week away before the big celebration of our Lord’s birth. I am so very blessed to have my family in this week. Dakota and our second dear daughter-in-law have come down. We spent the evening over at Tyler’s and my first DIL and our sweet little grandbabies. We were joined by my brother-in-law, mother-in-law, and my moms and pops. It was a wonderful evening. It has a way of putting everything into perspective and really seeing what I am so thankful for. It has been a glorious weekend.
But this morning I get to come to church! We all get to come to church and according to the emphatic teaching of Scripture this supernatural family we visit every week is truly our family! We should hold the church in the highest regard because Jesus has established his church and adopted us into his family so that we can share in his kingdom work together. The church should mean something to us. The church should be special in our hearts. We should think about the church with the same love and kindness that we have for our flesh and blood family.
The Apostle Paul calls the Galatian believers to hold the Church in the highest regard. This morning we continue in our #GospelLife series as Paul calls us to Gospel Giving this morning. Giving to the church is a Biblical principle that is firmly established throughout the entire scope of the Bible. Yet so many times we get so frustrated when the preacher preaches on giving. This used to be a very burdensome thing for me to do. Because I didn’t want my congregation to be unhappy with me. Yet over the last few years the Holy Spirit has convicted me that preaching on Gospel Giving is just as much a part of the bible as the Love of Christ!
So as we come to the conclusion of our #GospelLife series Paul leaves us with the encouragement to participate in the beautiful blessings of giving sacrificially “as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, especially to those who are in the household of faith.” (Gal. 6:10)
We would love for you to join us this morning. Come and worship with us this morning. Come and experience the manifest presence of Christ.
