This morning is going to be a great morning. We have the privilege to welcome Stephen Deason in view of a call. Stephen is coming from FBC Buffalo where he served has their Youth Pastor. His wife Ginny and son Landon will be with him this morning as he rightly divides the Word of God. We are asking to him to join our family here at JBC as our Associate Connects Pastor where he will primarily lead our Student Ministry along with many other pastoral tasks. We are so very excited to have him and Ginny come and be a part of our loving church family!
Things are looking a little different these days at Joy Baptist Church. We are doing some very different things and our focus and strategy is all about Gospel Advancement. We are excited about Stephen coming on board so that we can continue to engage our community for the Gospel of Christ. Things are indeed looking a little different these days. We have changed our format for our Mid-week services with JBC Connects where we are specifically geared up as a church to invest in our children’s and students’ lives. JBC Connects involves our children in a very fun way where we worship, learn from God’s word, grown in God’s knowledge, and learn about missions across the world. Our Students will worship on Wednesday nights where Stephen will bring the word of God every week. Praise God things are looking a little different at Joy Baptist Church.
Over the next several weeks the Deasons will be getting settled and trying to assimilate into our church family. I am praying, as many of you have already done, you will take time out of your lives and personally welcome this dear family. Remember fellowship has nothing to with pot-luck. Remember why God has chosen you to serve at JBC. Remember that one of our greatest assets as a church is our passion to “love one another as Christ loves us.” There should never be any doubt that they are at the right place and God is going to use them in mighty and wonderful ways.
So Church… Let’s be the church this morning and give a great big welcome to the Deasons and let’s commit to pray for them and their family as God leads them in the ministry he has specifically designed for them here at Joy Baptist Church. This is going to be a great day!
