Good Morning Church,
Three days have past… You very well may be still eating what is left of your great Thanksgiving feast. I have seen so many of you posting pictures of your family and friends. Having a wonderful time of rest and fellowship. Giving thanks on what is truly a wonderful holiday is one of my most favorite times of the year. Praise God and I am so thankful.
But then, like a thief in the night, Thanksgiving is gone! For some of you it was over on Thanksgiving itself. I witnessed it firsthand. We ate; we took pictures; we ate some more; we watched some football; and then, for some, it was like a mad dash to get dressed and head to town before the doors opened at 6pm for “Black” Friday on Thanksgiving Thursday. Yeah, I know it doesn’t make much sense does it? Yes, for many of you Thanksgiving was over on Thursday evening. Then Friday and Saturday… Now Sunday is here and Thanksgiving is in our rear- view mirror as we look forward to the manic craziness that that is the Christmas season.
So, Thanksgiving is over—Now What? Well guess what Church… Time still marches on! Trouble still comes. Trials, tribulations, and trouble still have us surrounded. What will you do? Will you leave thanksgiving behind and forget what Thanksgiving is all about? Or will you continue to choose to give thanks no matter what comes at you? That is what I am going to preach on this morning as we open up the Old Testament book of Habakkuk. Church I want you to march into this next season of life giving thanks to God because he is GOD! Continue to live your life giving thanks to God for his indescribable gift!
Next up is Christmas… Let’s not get caught in this madness and remember why we celebrate the beautiful advent of Christ Jesus! No matter the conflict, concern, or carnage; God is still GOD and we should continue to give thanks because He is a wonderful, GOOD GOOD Father! Join us this morning at JBC. You can be my personal guest.
