Today is a day the Lord has made so let us rejoice in it! Speaking of rejoicing; his is exactly what I am preaching on this morning as we continue our journey through Isa. 9:1-7, our second message on the Joy to the World Christmas sermon series.
Our Joy can only come from Jesus. There is a difference between Joy and Happy. You see happiness is a feeling you will experience with joy but that feeling in always fleeting. I like to define Joy as more than a feeling but a perpetual state of being! You see real Joy can only come from knowing the One who created Joy. Real Joy can only be a part of our lives if we know the King of Joy who came and was born of a virgin. Lived a perfect sinless life so that he could die on a cross to pay for your sins. Buried and three days later rose again who ascended to heaven where he is right now interceding for you and me.
You see this King of Joy is Jesus! Jesus is the One who gives us Joy through his salvation. It is this Joy that the Prophet Isaiah was speaking of in Isa. 9:3 “You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest, as they are glad when they divide the spoil.” Joy comes from Jesus who continues to multiply his harvest and increasing our Joy through his salvation!
Do you know real joy? Sometimes this time of year it is very hard to find Joy! This is a direct result of sin’s powerful destruction. Don’t let this time of year be a reason to walk in darkness and sorrow! Let Jesus turn your sorrow into Joy as you walk in his Salvation!
Join us this morning at Joy Baptist Church. Worship begins at 10:45. Please come and bring your family and friends. You can be my personal guests!
